Congregational singing is the most important aspect of our music ministry. We encourage all our church body to join in singing joyful praises unto our God during each church service. Whether being accompanied by a full orchestra, organ and piano, or just a cappella the singing fills the auditorium to the delight of our Saviour and King.
The Music Ministry exists to bring praise to the Lord, both corporately, as a church body, and individually; and to prepare the hearts of the congregation for the preaching of the Word of God.
Psalm 9:2 "I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High."
Psalm 9:11 "Sing praises to the Lord, which dwelleth in Zion: declare among the people his doings."
Our church choir sings Sunday morning and evening. We rehearse on Sunday afternoons before the evening service. The choir presents special programs several times each year such as cantatas at Christmas and Easter, and often the choir joins with the orchestra for patriotic concerts on the 4th of July. Each Sunday service provides opportunity for special music. Soloists and ensembles use their talents to praise the Lord. They are instrumental in insuring a good spirit right before the message from God's Word.
Our church ministries are blessed with some excellent piano teachers. Piano students are regularly afforded the opportunity to sharpen their skills during the services. What a blessing to watch them grow in their abilities for the Lord. In recent years the Lord has added to our instrumental ministry greatly. Our orchestra accompanies the congregation each Sunday night. Occassionally special events with the choir now include the wonderful addition of the orchestra. Opportunities abound for our people to utilize their God-given talents in His service.
